📺 EVERY DAY COUNTED — AND FOR TWO D99 STUDENTS, IT ENDED WITH A BIG-SCREEN SURPRISE! 🎉

Posted Date: 05/17/26 (05:00 PM)

Some moments are bigger than prizes. They're about what those prizes represent.

This past week, Cicero District 99 celebrated two students whose commitment to showing up to school earned them a moment they'll never forget.

As part of our End-Of-The-Year Attendance Celebration, students who demonstrated exceptional dedication to being present, engaged, and committed to learning were entered into a special raffle drawing. Two lucky winners were selected to take home brand new 32-inch TVs — and the excitement was unforgettable.

💙 Congratulations to our lucky winners: Leonel Sebastian Caballero Velez, third grader from Cicero West, and Ethan Aranda sixth grader from Goodwin! Your commitment stood out, and your school community is incredibly proud of you. Enjoy your new TVs — you earned them!

Behind every day of attendance is a story of perseverance, responsibility, determination, and support from families who understand the power of education. Showing up matters. Every lesson, every classroom moment, every opportunity to learn and grow begins with being present.

At Cicero District 99, we believe attendance is more than a number — it's a reflection of dedication, resilience, and a student's desire to succeed. That's why we celebrate students who consistently make the choice to be here, to engage, and to give their best effort every day.

🚨 And one important reminder for all D99 families: The LAST DAY OF SCHOOL is THIS THURSDAY, MAY 21! Yes... THURSDAY! Let's finish the school year strong and make these final four days count.

We're challenging ALL students to push for perfect attendance through the very last day of school. Let's show up, finish strong, and head into summer proud of what we accomplished together!
